Senior Year
To build off of my passion for music that I found during Junior year, I decided to compose another piece of music entitled "Falling in Love". This project was a culmination of an entire year of new learning and skill development, as well as participation in a music technology class.

During my AP Statistics class, we discussed a topic called "chi-squared testing." This test is used to determine if a particular set of variables has relation to one another or if they are independent. This connected very nicely with my research question, which analyzed the relationship between films and their soundtracks. By combining these two ideas I was able to construct a more thorough and complete analysis of my research question.

During my astronomy class, we were tasked with creating a scale model of the solar system based on the size of the celestial bodies, not distance. We decided to create a large paper sun and paste all of the objects in the solar system onto it. Our STEM extension for this project was to calculate the scaled distance between each of Saturn's rings and illustrate them to scale. From this I learned artistry skills as well as how to calculate astronomical distances and sizes.

End of Grade Reflection
This year has been incredibly challenging, especially emotionally, as I navigate the changes that come with moving from high school to college. The "senioritis" sets in and makes even the simplest tasks seem like unscalable mountains. This year taught me that no matter how daunting things seem, there is always a way through them. Whether its troubles with friends, or particularly challenging academics, there are always ways to push through and persevere.
This year I was the Drum Major for the marching band, a position that required immense amounts of dedication and effort on top of other responsibilities. I learned quite well how to manage my time, and how to juggle multiple leadership roles like Head Team Lead of the Mars Challenge and Tri-M Vice President. Senior year has made me realize that all time is precious, and that it's important to live in every moment before it passes you by. As Ferris Bueller once said:
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
